(1) Department of Biology
The Panama College of Cell Science, is a Biology Graduate School within Blue Marble University, that administers our programs in Stem Cell Biology. The degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is issued by Blue Marble University upon the recommendation of the Faculty of the Panama College of Cell Science. This exciting, stand-alone biology doctoral program remains the only doctoral program in stem cell biology that can be completed entirely online.
D.Sc. Applied Biology (3 year program): This program teaches concepts in applied biology, that is the role of biology in medical, agricultural, and industrial applications. This is a multidisciplinary program that is intended to vest the graduate in a broad and useful education that will be useful in many fields of endeavor. It is the intent of Blue Marble University to avoid where possible the training of doctoral candidates with too specialized and too narrow a focus. Rather, graduates would be expected to be able to follow endeavors in a variety of different settings, including clinical, biomedical, research, industrial, and academic.
(2) Biomedical Engineering
This is a broad and exciting field which combines applied engineering with current rapid advances in Biology and Medicine. The major goal of this interdisciplinary field is to use design and problem solving engineering skills to improve health care. Examples of biomedical applications include the development of biocompatible prostheses, medical devices, imaging equipment, and regenerative tissue growth.
We believe that the most important medical observation of our time is that repair stem cells taken from a patient’s blood can heal damaged tissue and can repair bodily functions. Stem cell science has opened a whole new and exciting area for biomedical engineers. New designs of equipment and processes are needed in the areas of batch preparation of stem cells, labeling and sorting of cells, cell preservation techniques, clinical diagnostic imaging devices to find such cells, scaffolding and other techniques for tissue creation, nanotechnology, as well as cellular delivery devices. Yet, even though cellular and tissue engineering are our focus, our program is rock solid in all the hot new fields of nanotechnology, imaging systems, fiber optics and bio-sensors, biophotonic instrumentation, bioinformatics, robotics, medical devices and implants. We offer a Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degree which is the international standard, and is equivalent to a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree. Click on the links for more information:

Two Programs: A Doctoral Degree and a Combined Bachelor/Doctoral Degree
We have two exciting programs, a 3 year doctoral program, as well as a 5 year fast track combination doctoral program for high school graduates, and they are not as difficult as you think!! Dissertation topics are always open to the student to select what he/she would like to research (with faculty guidance and approval). We are currently encouraging dissertations that relate to the batch processing of human stem cells, growth media, and nanotechnology for labeling and sorting of cells, but this topic in biomedical processes is not a requirement.

(5) Department of Computer Science
D.Sc. Computer Science (3 year online program) A Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degree is the international standard, and is equivalent to a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree. Our doctoral program in Computer Science is constantly evolving to ensure that we are at the cutting edge of all new technologies. We cover the hot areas of video gaming, virtual worlds, programming for mobile devices, and 3D Immersion Technology used in the entertainment industry. We stress academic scholarship and thinking outside of the box. We encourage both Directed Research and Independent Research. Our standing Directed Research project relates to the batch preparation of human stem cells and the computer controlled imaging mechanisms for cell counting and separation. Independent dissertation topics are left up to the student with the guidance and consent of supervising faculty. Every student must also create an Online Portfolio, being a digital presentation published on the internet which summarizes the students achievements, education, research interests, publications, and other interests.
(6) Creative Arts and Sciences
A new, exciting 2 year online program that serves the creative, inventive, and productive student by allowing the student to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree through the construction of a substantial creative independent work.
The dissertation only PhD program is open to anyone, from any field of endeavor, and with any interest. There is no age or other requirement, nor any particular academic pre-requisite, although the applicant has the burden during the application process of demonstrating that attendant skills have been mastered or obtained sufficient to likely successful completion of the proposed independent project.
The work may be, by way of example and not meant to include all the categories, a novel, a work of history, an archaeological discovery, a film, a video, musical work, a research paper, a photographic journal, natural environment photography, a novel use of the internet or other modern technology, a unique creation of 3D modeling or virtual worlds, a contribution to robotics, a summary or review of medical technology…. in short--any topic of interest to the student for which an original work that contributes to human kind or society may be completed. Special preference will be given to students who create special items to enhance the University, such as a virtual world area for the website or otherwise.

(7) Education- Instructional Design and Technology
D.Sc. Instructional Design and Technology (3 year Program): We offer one of the classiest doctoral programs in Instructional Technology you will come across. Really!! We filled our program with the study of useful tools you can use. Complete our program and you can go anywhere to design curricula and to deploy an e-learning or distance learning educational platform, or easily serve as lead administrator at the university, corporate, or K-12 (State Education Department) level. Our online lab will require you to actually design one or more courses and deploy them on an e-learning platform. And we have some fun diving deep into 3D Virtual Worlds as a means to create student interest in courses. But don’t worry, we know you are not engineers, but rather educators.
