New AI Requirement for Dissertations

Blue Marble University is going All In on AI. This is not the future…this is now.
I start with a report from an undergraduate student at a state university. He turned in his first English composition/essay in his English class. The professor questioned was AI or Grammarly used as there were no mistakes, and the use of Grammarly is considered “Plagiarism” by that university and probably most others. In actuality, the student’s English is just very good and neither AI nor Gammarly were used in that composition. The student reported that from that point on he had to introduce “mistakes” in writing so as not to be suspected of plagiarism.
This is upside down education. All use of AI and Grammarly should not only be acceptable but encouraged, and even required! Students should learn how to turn in clean, well written reports and to use AI to make their work deeper, more understandable, and at the highest level in all respects.
At Blue Marble University, a student’s use of AI is not only fully acceptable, it is required!
At both the undergraduate as well as Master’s and doctoral degree levels, students should be making every available use of AI in their reports, and to help with deeper learning.
Using AI for research and writing reports is NOT plagiarism…it is making the use of the best tools available. And students better learn how to use these tools because employers are using them right now and expect employees to know how to use them as well.
Blue Marble University is rapidly upgrading all courses and curricula across all programs, and at every level: Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral. We are implementing the study of AI applications and tools in two ways:
(1) Some new courses in AI will be introduced in all curriculums to give students a foundation in using these new tools, which are applicable to research, business, marketing, administration, health care and so forth.
(2) Some courses in each program will be upgraded to include AI applications and tools relevant to the particular field.
And while this will be shocking to many, effective immediately, ALL dissertations in all fields are REQUIRED to be created using AI. This will result in far less stumbling around with wandering unfocused end product, and lead to deep, worthwhile, new and exciting dissertations and reports in excellent form, that have meaningful impact, and be publication ready.
This is not plagiarism!!! This is creating something new that doesn’t exist anywhere, using “prompts” that each student develops on their own, and feeds into an AI resource in order to yield a superior work!!
And everyone had better be learning AI because it is the No. 1 Skill employers are looking for according to this article from yahoo.com January 29, 2026: “The No. 1 skill employers are looking for, according to a LinkedIn expert” by Megan Cerullo, noting:
“Candidates who demonstrate their fluency in artificial intelligence are much more likely to pique hiring managers’ interest, according to LinkedIn career expert Catherine Fisher. That’s the top skill employers are looking for, as companies adopt what she described as a “skills-based” approach to hiring, she told “CBS Mornings. Her top tip for job seekers: To emphasize their AI literacy, highlight how they are using different AI tools in their day-to-day work. “
And Be ready for this question: “How have you used AI in your work?”
Fisher urges job candidates to come to interviews prepared to discuss how AI makes them more productive.
“Make sure you have some examples, because you know you’re probably going to get asked, ‘How have you used AI in your work?'” she said.
