Why Blue Marble University Teaches AI-Employers Want AI Skills

Blue Marble University is rapidly converting and updating all programs to feature relevant studies in AI. Current students will begin seeing a modest shift beginning May 1, our next Start Date. Here is why:

AI is here and as many have said, you are either IN AI or OUT of AI. We are now seeing reports that employers are looking for people that are familiar with AI applications and tools. Look at this article posted on yahoo.com titled: “The No. 1 skill employers are looking for…” stating:

“It can take job seekers months just to get an employer’s attention, while actually landing the job is even more challenging. To stand out, one career expert underscores the skill that employers value most right now. Candidates who demonstrate their fluency in artificial intelligence are much more likely to pique hiring managers’ interest, according to LinkedIn career expert Catherine Fisher. That’s the top skill employers are looking for, as companies adopt what she described as a “skills-based” approach to hiring, she told “CBS Mornings.”

Her top tip for job seekers: To emphasize their AI literacy, highlight how they are using different AI tools in their day-to-day work. Be ready for this question: ‘How have you used AI in your work?’

AI literacy is key. Highlight how you’ve used AI to generate business gains. Talk about the AI tools you use to work more efficiently and productively.”

Here at Blue Marble University we are going “all in” with AI, because it is here and now. We want every single one of our graduates across all programs to know something about AI applications and tools, and in particular which ones apply to their projected industry.

As an example of what we are doing,  Blue Marble University dropped all “general education courses” in its undergraduate Bachelor degree curriculum and replaced them with courses in AI applications and tools. Not accredited, and we do not care, because we are banking on our graduates having what employers want, and that is not going to be courses in philosophy and economics and art appreciation…unless grounded in AI.

See our new Bachelor Degree program described here: https://bluemarbleuniversity.com/no-general-education-bachelor-degrees/

And ALL of our Master’s and doctoral programs will feature some courses updated to showcase learning in AI applications and tools.
