As noted by Dr. Mandhare, “… it’s crucial to recognize that while Generics mirror their respective Reference products as exact replicas, Biosimilars achieve a high degree of similarity without attaining structural identity to their Reference products”. And the similarity we are talking about is comparable clinical safety, purity, potency, and result compared to the reference drug. The paper is an excellent review of this new product generation approach being rapidly adopted in the pharmaceutical industry.
